Description: A compilation of war scenes taken from the second part of the epic film "Helena" (1923/1924) – a film adaptation of the ancient saga about the conquest of Troy by the Greeks made by Manfred Noa for the Bavaria Film company. The compilation includes various battles between Greeks and Trojans, the death of the princes Achilles and Paris and the Trojan Horse which the Greeks used to their military advantage. Bilder vom Trojanischen Kriege (Pictures of the Trojan Wars) is evidence of the growing public interest in images of war and destruction, which emerged in the 1920s in the wake of the traumatic experience of the First World War. Larger film productions dealing with the World War directly were only made on a larger scale in Europe in the 1930s.
